An invitation for seeing smiley faces

Smiling faces welcome us with an energetic mind with hope for the future. How this smile has happened now from sadness & hopelessness was six month ago?. Many families of people affected by leprosy & general disability now have three meals in the midst of this financial crisis in Sri Lanka, how this has happened ‘YES’ , this has been happened by KKM food for work intervention project by the TLMEW special funding for food for work mission . The impact of the declines in household income from the Sri Lankan economic downturn has been compounded by the relatively high food prices in all districts in Sri Lanka, resulting in further increases in the number of undernourished households in rural villages in Sri Lanka. The aim of the Food for work mission is to focus on how the growth of populations and changing lifestyles has brought great demand for more safe food in our rural villages. Food security exists when all people, at all times, have access to sufficient safe and nutritious food to meet their dietary needs and food preferences for an active and healthy life (FAO, 2003). Thus, both quality and quantity of diet are important components of food security. Diet quality measures the ability of food to supply protein of high biological value and adequate supplies of micronutrients such as minerals, trace elements, and vitamins, whereas diet quantity refers to the availability and consumption of total food energy. This has been done by KKM food for work intervention project.
